Festival Chorus is the largest of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, with 400 passionate singers who come together twice a year to perform works from a diverse musical range. 2018 performances included Joseph Haydn’s The Creation and Leonard Bernstein’s Candide.
In 2019 Festival Chorus will present two fantastic programs; Music from the Movies on Friday 11 May at Sydney Opera House, featuring songs from some of the best-known movie scores including Babe, Gladiator, The Mission and Disney classics, and Dvořák’s Requiem on Saturday 21 September at Sydney Opera House. This is a rediscovered masterpiece and Dvořák’s finest choral creation. No other company provides you the opportunity to sing the great choral works on the Sydney Opera House stage alongside a symphony orchestra, soloists and under the baton of our skilled Music Directors.
Join our Festival Chorus Open Day and participate in a three-hour workshop, led by our Music Director Brett Weymark. Explore your voice, brush up on your choral skills and get some tips on how to sing. During the workshop we will assess your singing ability and determine your vocal range. No preparation is required.
